Listen to the Word

He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”  (Revelation 21:5)

Have you ever noticed that the Bible ends with a beginning? As the book of Revelation comes to a close, God announces and guarantees his plan for the complete restoration of all of creation. He proclaims that he is making everything new.

God is the Creator – and he continues to create. He is always starting something! He is the One who caused the beginning of everything, and he specializes in new beginnings. When the Bible talks about what God wants to do in your life, it uses images like “new birth,” “new creation,” and “new life.” God wants to give you a new beginning. He wants to re-create you so that you are full of his life and love and joy and peace. He wants to make you new.

Pray to God, giving him your permission to do whatever new thing in you that he desires.
