Listen to the Word

The Lord will indeed give what is good... (Psalm 85:12)

We could excuse God if he were the most selfish being in the universe. After all, everything that exists is rightfully his. We would understand if he chose to keep it all to himself. And when he gives something to us, we have such a tendency to abuse it, or to take it for granted, or to take credit for it - who could blame God if he chose to cling tightly to it all? But today’s Scripture reveals a surprising truth - a truth that will be our theme for the next two weeks: God is a GIVER. He is incomprehensibly generous. He gives what is good.
