Listen to the Word
I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. (Isaiah 43:25)
The amazing promise in Isaiah 43:25 allows us to envision some conversations with God. You might pray, “God, remember the time I committed that sin, and I asked You to forgive, and You forgave?” And God answers, “Sorry, that doesn’t ring a bell. I remember the forgiving part, but I’m a little fuzzy on the sin.” Or perhaps you say to God, “I’m so ashamed I committed that sin so many times.” And God responds, “What sin?”
You may have perfect recall of many of your past failures. You may choose to store them in the basement of your soul. But God has blotted them out. When you repent, God forgives and forgets.
Live the Word
Ask God to give you peace and assurance that your past sins are long gone, blotted out and forgotten.
