Listen to the Word
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5)
We will spend the week exploring God’s promise to give us wisdom.
Biblically speaking, wisdom is not just an intellectual thing. It is a practical and moral thing. Wisdom is always applied. You can ace the SAT and still be unwise; you can make straight As and still make stupid decisions. On the other hand, you can be uneducated but full of wisdom. Wisdom is knowing the right thing to do. Wisdom is knowing how to live a life that honors God, benefits others, and avoids major self-inflicted problems. Wisdom means knowing how to live. It is as simple as that.
Live the Word
Read today’s Scripture several times. Ask God to focus your attention on one particular word or phrase from that verse. Strive to keep that word or phrase in your mind for the rest of the day.
