Listen to the Word

He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will. (Ephesians 1:5)

Do you ever wonder why you are here? Perhaps pondering the scope of our vast universe reminds you of your smallness and makes you wonder if you are just an irrelevant accident. Maybe the rut of life prompts the question of purpose for you. The day in, day out drudgery of work and school and bills and cheap thrills makes you wonder if there is a point to it all.

This week’s Scripture tells you that God had a purpose in mind when he made you. He assembled you so he could adopt you! He formed you so you could become part of his family. He created you so you could be his treasured child.

Ask God to speak to you this week and help you embrace the purpose for which he made you.
