Listen to the Word
“One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” (Proverbs 11:24-25)
From the standpoint of human math, you would assume that the more money you hang onto, the more you will have, while the more you give away, the less you will have. But today’s verse tells us that God’s money math works differently. In God’s economy, generous people are more likely to receive blessings. On the other hand, greed tends to have a shriveling effect that causes those who are unwilling to give to be unable to receive.
Don’t horde your money in an effort to take care of yourself. Be generous with your money and count on God to take care of you.
