Listen to the Word

He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.  (Ephesians 1:5)

As the father of two adopted children, I get pretty excited when I hear that God wants to adopt us as his children. That means we are chosen. It means he wants us to be HIS! It means he wants to give us a name - his name. It means he wants to provide us with a home and a family. It means he wants to give us a future. 

Before you were formed, you were chosen to be God’s child. Before you drew your first breath, you had a seat reserved at God’s table. Before your first heartbeat, you had a place in God’s heart. You were created to be the King’s kid - God’s treasured child!

Write a brief prayer of thanksgiving to God, expressing your gratitude to him for desiring to adopt you as his own.
