Listen to the Word
Love… is not easily angered. (1 Corinthians 13:5)
What does it take to make you mad? How much provoking is necessary before you fly off the handle? The Bible says love is not easily angered. It doesn’t have a quick trigger.
When you are in a relationship with someone, they will regularly do things that are unpleasant to you. Relationships require thick skin - you have to choose that you will not go ballistic over the least little thing. A quick temper is more than a bad habit or an inconvenient character flaw. It is a sin. It is the opposite of love. God knows that a short fuse is as lethal in relationships as it is in war, so he calls us to demonstrate a love that is not easily angered.
Live the Word
When something frustrating happens today, take a deep breath and say a quick prayer. Ask God to help you to be slow to become angry.
