Listen to the Word

Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.  (2 Timothy 2:22)

Our Scripture challenges us to run away from temptation, but it also instructs us to run toward something. We are to run after righteousness, an integrity that is in agreement with God’s standards. We are to chase faith, a deep confidence in God and loyalty to him. We are to be hot on the trail of selfless, unconditional, God-like love. And we are to pursue peace, a harmony and calmness of the soul that sticks with us even in chaotic situations.

The Bible says we should run after these things. We should go after them with the intensity of kids chasing the ice cream truck. We should pursue them without giving up.
