Listen to the Word

Love is not rude. (1 Corinthians 13:5, NIV ‘84)

Some cultural observers say that rudeness is the most striking attribute of modern society. Words like “please” and “thank you” and “yes ma’am” are dropping out of our vocabulary. Blaring horns and offensive gestures are taking their place. Rudeness is an epidemic.

Sadly, we are often most rude to those we know best. We are most unloving to those we supposedly love most. The Bible says that love is not rude. It is polite and considerate. It does not take others for granted or treat them as objects to be used - it treats them with dignity and respect.

Live the Word

Have you been rude to a loved one lately? Apologize to that person today.
