Listen to the Word
…“Can I not do with you, Israel, as the potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel.” (Jeremiah 18:6)
God is the most gifted, creative sculptor imaginable, and you are clay in his hands. As you cooperate with him, he is shaping you into a masterpiece. He is forming you into something that is beautiful and useful to him. Many people strive to be self-made pots, deciding for themselves what they will become and attempting to form themselves. That kind of project doesn’t generally turn out very well. Things go much better when we place ourselves in God’s hands and trust him to mold us, refine us, and shape us into the pattern of Jesus Christ.
Live the Word
When a small annoyance or inconvenience comes your way today, don’t get upset about it or try to take control of the situation. Receive it as something that God has allowed to come your way, and ask him to use it as part of his process of transforming you into the likeness of Jesus.
