Listen to the Word
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. (Colossians 3:12)
The fourth article required for the Christian’s relational wardrobe is gentleness. To be gentle is not to be a doormat for Jesus. It is to practice self-control. It is to engage your brain before you say or do something that could cause harm to someone. Would you play football with an antique crystal vase? Of course not - it is too valuable and fragile. So are the people in your life - they are valuable and fragile. Treat them as God’s priceless treasures. Treat them with gentleness.
Live the Word
Have you caused hurt to someone recently, perhaps because of a lack of gentleness on your part? Go to that person today and ask for their forgiveness.
