Listen to the Word

The LORD God Almighty, the LORD is his name. (Hosea 12:5)

God identifies himself to us as Yahweh, the great I AM. That name reminds us that God is always present tense. He’s not just the great “I was,” a dusty antique whose glory days with Abraham and Moses and Ruth are well behind him. He’s more than just the great “I will be,” someone who hopefully one day on the horizon will show up and show out if we keep our fingers crossed. He is the I AM, the God who is here now, working now, reigning now. He is eternally contemporary. He is!
