Listen to the Word

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5)

God is a giver, and he wants to give you the gift of wisdom.

Do you ever come up short in your quest for answers? Are you ever unsure about which path to take? Today’s Scripture has good news: you can ask God, and he will give you wisdom.

And notice how God gives: “generously.” He is not stingy with his gifts, which is good, because we can use all the help we can get. And notice to whom God gives: “to all without finding fault.” He doesn’t wait for us to measure up, which is good, because he wouldn’t have to look hard to find our flaws.
