Listen to the Word

Love… keeps no record of wrongs. (1 Corinthians 13:5)

We enjoy keeping score. We keep a mental list of all the things that bug us about someone, and we are always prepared to add to that list. We notice when someone does something we don’t like, and we remember it in case we need it for future ammunition.

But love keeps no record of wrongs. Love doesn’t hold a grudge. Love forgives. Love has a healthy spiritual amnesia, forgetting about past offenses rather than dragging them out again and again. Love treats others like God treats us, showering us with mercy and second chances.

Live the Word

Do you feel resentment toward someone who has hurt you? Ask God to help you let go of that offense and forgive.
