Listen to the Word
Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8)
Imagine that you are Joshua. You are on a really big bus with a couple million refugees. The bus is parked right on the border of the Promised Land, next to a big “No Trespassing” sign, and it is finally time to go in and claim what God wants to give you. Moses has been driving the bus for forty years, but Moses is dead. God has just handed you the keys. He has given you perhaps the most impossible leadership challenge in the history of ever: to take over for the guy who parted the Red Sea, delivered the law, and provided bread from heaven. God knows you are more nervous than Colonel Sanders’ pet chicken, but he tells you the key to being prosperous and successful in the task before you: meditate on the Book.
Meditating on Scripture was crucial for Joshua, and it is crucial for you. This week we will learn about this vital practice.
Live the Word
