Listen to the Word
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. (John 4:23)
In our Scripture, Jesus tells us that God is looking for a certain kind of worshipper. He is seeking true worshippers, which Jesus defines as those who worship in spirit and in truth.
To worship in spirit and in truth includes worshipping with all we’ve got. We don’t hold back. Our praise is not a casual, half-hearted thing. We put everything into it. We give God our all. We worship all that God is with all that we’ve got. We respond to the fullness of his being – his holiness, his power, his passion for justice, his majesty, his compassion, his tenderness, his joy. We respond to all of that, and we respond with all we’ve got – our minds, our hearts, our voices, our bodies, our resources. We will worship all that God is with all that we’ve got. That is the kind of worship God is seeking.
Live the Word
At some point today, let your body get involved in your worship of God. Kneel in prayer, or stand with hands uplifted, or otherwise engage your body.
