Listen to the Word
I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. (Ezekiel 36:26)
God is a giver, and he wants to give you the gift of a new heart.
A heart of stone is not good for much. It stubbornly resists being molded by the Master. It is impervious to feeling - no joy for life’s simple pleasures, no compassion for the pain of others. It is dead. But God wants to perform a spiritual heart transplant on you. He wants to replace your rock-hard heart with a softer one, a heart that beats with his and responds to his touch, a heart that is fully alive.
Live the Word
Reflect on some additional verses that describe the kind of heart God wants to give you: Psalm 51:10,17; Psalm 86:11; Proverbs 17:22; Colossians 3:1.
