First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit is seeking a part-time Worship Leader to lead a new modern Sunday morning worship service. The Worship Leader would also lead worship for Wednesday evening student ministry programming. The position begins August 1, and the new Sunday service begins August 18. -Plan and lead weekly Sunday morning worship experiences that use a modern/contemporary style to facilitate genuine encounters with God and draw people closer to Christ
-Recruit, equip, and encourage volunteer musicians
-Work with the senior pastor to align worship experiences with sermon themes
-Work with the student pastor to plan and lead meaningful worship experiences for students, and build and oversee a student praise band

First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit is a church with 159 years of history, but a willingness to try new things to reach new people. Sunday morning attendance averages about 650 people of all ages, with two worship services. The church’s mission is to love God, love people, and make disciples. The church is committed to making a difference in the lives of people in Lee’s Summit and beyond. FBCLS allows its members to designate missions giving through either Southern Baptist Convention or Cooperative Baptist Fellowship channels, but is not actively involved in denominational politics.
